  1. Will you need it in 5 years?  It is time to step back and look at the big picture.  What are you really trying to accomplish?  Do you need more space or do you need to dispose of the not need?
  2. Making the most of what you have.  Now that you have disposed of or given away un-needed materials, it is time to step back, look at your space and consider a way to store your items and information so that they are readily available.
  3. Now it is time to take inventory.  What are you storing and how much of each item do you need to store?  How often will it be accessed?  Is it private? Does it need to be secured?
  4. Laying the groundwork (the hardest part):  Now that you know what you are storing, the space you have available and what you are trying to accomplish, it is time to make it happen.  The easiest way is to contact Space Saving Solutions and we will help you out.  If you decide to go solo, get out a piece of paper, a straight edge and make a sketch of your work space.  Start thinking about the height, width, depth and quantity of your materials and then determine how much storage space you will need to accommodate your existing items & information and plan for at least 5 years of growth.
  5. Planning: Now that you have a good idea of your goal and your overall situation, it is time to put it down on paper.  Determine what this challenge will cost.  Not only from a monetary stand point but also from the amount of time to be invested.   Once you have come up with a price & time frame that makes sense, it is time to make things happen.
  6. Implementation:  People can talk about doing something all day long but it takes determination and will to bring a project from conception to completion. Make sure you are selective in your decision making process.  It's not always about quantity.  It's important to place value on quality.  What  is the point of getting twice the storage space if you have to replace it next year.  Remember, think AT LEAST 5 years from now.  No one wants to mess with your mess for the next 5 years.  Not even you...
  7. Space Saving is a practice:  Once you have pulled the project together from start to finish, you will with out a doubt have a sense of accomplishment.  Unfortunately, the work is not done.  It is important to keep a close eye on the work you have done and make sure that you and others maintain the integrity of the storage system that you designed and brought to reality.
